Liam O’Malley : Trombone

After growing up in Bundaberg, QLD, Liam completed a Bachelor of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium studying with Jason Redman. Liam has been the Associate Principal Trombone of the West Australia Symphony Orchestra since 2012.

He was previously a member of the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and the New South Wales Police Band. Liam has also played with the Queensland, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide Symphony Orchestras as well as numerous other Chamber groups.

Liam tutors at both the University of WA and the WAAPA as well as teaching at Hale School.

Outside music, Liam is an aficionado of all things sport and a lover of fine wine, gin and especially cheese.
